Wind pressure characteristics of elliptical retractable dome roofs

چکیده

This study investigated the wind pressure characteristics of an elliptical plan retractable dome roof. Wind tunnel experiments were performed on roofs with varying wall height-to-span ratios (0.1–0.5) and opening (0, 10, 30, 50 %), where ratio was defined as open area roof to total The resulting peak coefficients closed then compared those Japanese load code (AIJ-RLB (2015)) there are no current for cladding design roofs. each also spherical domes proposed in previous research. Finally, based results comparative analysis, negative positive

Wind pressure measurements on full scale flat roofs

A flat roof surface is known to be subjected to unusually high suction associated with a pair of vortices created under diagonally skewed wind. Prediction of the wind load and its influence on the roof system is an important engineering topic but wind tunnel testing of this situation is not easy with a scaled model. Considering the physics of wind flow for the most critical case, a possibility ...

Genetic Characteristics and Environmental Parameters for Growing Turfgrass in Closed and Retractable Dome Stadiums

Vigorous plant growth without sunlight is routinely achieved in commercial hydroponic lettuce and tomato production using electric lamps. This same technology can be used to maintain live turf grass in closed athletic stadiums. It can also be used to supplement natural sunlight in retractable roof stadiums. The challenge is to determine the optimal combination of genetic characteristics and env...

NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF WIND PRESSURE COEFFICIENTS ON SCALLOP DOME

The wind loads considerably influence lightweight spatial structures. An example of spatial structures is scallop domes that contain various configurations and forms and the wind impact on a scallop dome is more complex due to its additional curvature. In our work, the wind pressure coefficient (Cp ) on the scallop dome surface is studied numerically and experimentally. Firstly, the programming...
